Fully automated plasma assays as screening tests for Alzheimer-related amyloid β pathology
The project is aimed at developing simple blood tests for Alzheimer-related amyloid pathology in the brain. The idea is that these simple and easy-to-perform blood tests will help doctors to identify patients with Alzheimer's disease at an early stage to enrol them in clinical trials or to prescribe effective drugs, the day we have such at hand. These blood tests have to be sensitive, specific and precise. Developing such tests and making sure that they work are the core elements of this grant proposal.
