Founded in 1998 by Leonard A. and Ronald S. Lauder, the Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation is dedicated to rapidly accelerating the discovery of drugs to prevent, treat and cure Alzheimer's disease. The ADDF is the only public charity solely focused on funding the development of drugs for Alzheimer's, employing a venture philanthropy model to support research in academia and the biotech industry. The ADDF’s leadership and contributions to the field have played a pivotal role in bringing the first Alzheimer’s PET scan (Amyvid™) and blood test (PrecivityAD™) to market, as well as fueling the current robust and diverse drug pipeline. Position Summary:
The ADDF is seeking to hire a Philanthropy Manager to support a dynamic and fast paced Philanthropy department. Reporting to the Senior Director, Philanthropy the person in this role will be independent, proactive, motivated, and detail-oriented, with an understanding of and interest in fundraising. This is a great opportunity for a curious and results driven team player to learn and grow during a very exciting time in the field. L2- Salary range: $75-85K
Key Responsibilities:
Communications
- Project manage the production of Clinical Trials Snapshot, annual donor reports and other collateral materials; execute on segmentation/mailing and coordinating personalization as appropriate
- Author and edit written documents, including proposals, reports, letters, acknowledgements, and other materials as required
- Develop and manage an annual development communications calendar
Major Gifts & Moves Management
- Execute timely input of moves management information into the Raiser’s Edge (RE) database
- Work with the CEO, Chief Philanthropy & External Affairs Officer, and Senior Director, Philanthropy to use RE information to ensure major gift strategies move in a timely manner to achieve ADDF goals
- Assist with drafting proposals and decks related to upcoming solicitations and stewardship
- Draft brief bios related to prospecting and special events
- Serve as VIP liaison at special events and help the senior team connect with donors and prospects
- Manage materials for major gifts team meetings
Board of Overseers
- Manage meeting administration for Board of Overseers meetings, which includes draft invitations and reminders, creation of decks and presentation materials
- Provide research and administrative support for projects looking at board composition and effectiveness
Finance
- Interface with the Finance Department by providing Development reports as needed, including materials for yearly budget reconciliation/audit
- Maintain the development expense budget
- Liaise with vendors used by Philanthropy team, track subscriptions, and assess use/need for services
- Reconcile receipts and corporate card charges with Finance
Other Duties
- Project management relating to key strategic areas involving the external affairs team
- Manage calendar for the Chief Philanthropy & External Affairs Officer and Senior Director, informing appropriate points of contact of commitments, changes, and deadlines
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 3-4 years of experience in fundraising or non-profit management, preferably in a comparable cultural institution, education, healthcare, or other non-profit setting
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Propriety, thoughtfulness, excellent judgement, and discretion in communicating with donors and colleagues at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, sharp attention to detail
- Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
- Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred
