T.J. Oshie Announces the Passing of His Father, Tim Oshie
The Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) is very saddened to hear the news that Tim Oshie, father of T.J. Oshie, passed away last night after his battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Tim, more fondly known as “Coach Oshie,” was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2012.
T.J. Oshie plays right wing on the Washington Capitals and is a fervent Alzheimer’s advocate who most recently served as the Honorary Chair for the ADDF’s 11th Annual Great Ladies Luncheon. Our hearts go out to T.J. and his family, and we thank them for their strength and bravery in sharing Tim’s diagnosis and continuing to serve as advocates for Alzheimer's awareness and research.
Alzheimer's is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with multiple underlying causes. The ADDF is committed to finding effective treatments and ultimately a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. We now know a combination of drugs addressing multiple targets will be needed to eventually win the war against this disease. Advocates like the Oshie family are essential to the ADDF as we continue to make progress in finding and funding drugs to prevent and treat Alzheimer's disease.
