Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation Lights the Royal Park Bridge Purple to Commemorate Alzheimer’s Awareness Month
ADDF Shines a Light on New Research Advances, Bringing Hope to Patients and Families
The Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation (ADDF) hit the button on November 16 to light the Royal Park Bridge purple for the month of November in honor of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
The lighting of the bridge signifies the hope the ADDF brings to patients and their families by driving forward the most promising and innovative clinical trials, biomarkers, and prevention programs in Alzheimer’s research.
Longtime ADDF supporters Tom McWilliams, who is the Co-Vice Chair and Treasurer of the ADDF’s Board of Governors, and Heidi McWilliams, who is a co-chairwoman of the ADDF’s Annual Hope on the Horizon Palm Beach event, were in attendance, along with ADDF board members Nancy Goodes and Bonnie Lautenberg, who also serve as co-chairs of the annual Palm Beach event.
Heidi and Tom McWilliams play an instrumental role in the ADDF’s efforts in Palm Beach and are the founders of the inaugural lecture series Tomorrow’s Breakthroughs Today, which features prominent experts in the field of Alzheimer’s research. Sponsored by the ADDF, the lecture series will take place on November 17, January 31, and April 26 at the Norton Museum of Art.
Also attending the lighting were Dr. Howard Fillit, the ADDF’s Founding Executive Director and Chief Science Officer, and Dr. Roberta Diaz Brinton, Director of the Center for Innovation in Brain Science at the University of Arizona and ADDF board member, who were featured scientist at the November 17 lecture.
