Through the tremendous support of donors like you, we have invested nearly $70 million to fund 450 Alzheimer’s drug discovery programs and clinical trials in academic centers and biotechnology companies in 18 countries. Our goal is to provide seed funding for early-stage research that may otherwise go unfunded. By supporting cutting-edge research projects around the globe, the ADDF increases the chance of finding a cure.
Our administrative and overhead costs are covered by a private foundation, so we are able to direct 100 PERCENT of every dollar donated to us to fund drug research for Alzheimer’s disease. There are many ways to become involved and support our mission:
DONATING STOCK / MAKING A WIRE TRANSFER
Please notify us in advance if you intend to donate stock or wire funds. Gifts can be transferred via domestic or international wire; however, electronically transferred funds must be payable in USD. For more information, please contact Sarah Toepke, Development Associate, at 212.901.8016 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Celebrate your wedding, anniversary or other important occasion by designating the ADDF in your charity or gift registry. Online giving sites like JustGive.org or IDoFoundation.org give couples and guests the opportunity to direct contributions or purchase registry items that generate proceeds for the ADDF.
HONOR + MEMORIAL GIFTS
Making a gift in someone’s name is a meaningful way to remember or honor a loved one or colleague, or to mark a special occasion. When you make an honor or memorial gift to the ADDF, we’ll send your honoree or their family a note acknowledging your generosity. If you prefer to mail your contribution, please note the name of the person you are honoring, as well as the name and address of anyone who should receive a note acknowledging your gift.
MAKE A BEQUEST
Charitable bequests to the ADDF help us to fulfill our mission to accelerate the discovery of drugs to prevent, treat and cure Alzheimer’s disease, related dementias and cognitive aging. Simply use this suggested language in your will or living trust: "I bequeath [dollar amount/percentage] to the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, a New York State not-for-profit organization." If you already have a will or living trust, you may add the ADDF as a beneficiary through a codicil or trust amendment. Bequests to the ADDF are not subject to estate tax. Consult with your attorney or other advisors to make sure that your bequest makes sense as part of your overall estate plan.
CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS
Leverage the impact of your personal contribution by asking your employer to make a matching contribution to the ADDF. Ask your human resources department about their Employee Matching Gift Program. Request a matching gift form and send that along with your contribution to the ADDF. As soon as we verify your gift, your employer will issue a matching contribution directly to ADDF.
NAMED PARTNERSHIP GRANTS
For a minimum contribution of $50,000, individuals, foundations and corporations can partner with the ADDF and name an academic or biotechnology grant. Depending on the size of the grant, the ADDF also may leverage your contribution with a match. Named partnership grants will be acknowledged in the ADDF’s annual report and other materials promoting the grant. For more information, please contact Diana Shineman, PhD, Director of Scientific Affairs, at 212.901.8007 or email@example.com.
CORPORATE + FOUNDATION MEMBERSHIP CIRCLE
